Work Package 3 “Methodological Framework
Description:
Once completed the SWOT analysis and shared the results, in WP3 the partnership will design of a common methodological framework for prototype models of lifelong learning short curricula and projects, workload (i.e. the time students typically need to achieve these outcomes) and learning outcomes.
Furthermore, as the field of advanced continuing education is at the intersection between university, professional practice a general vocational continuing education and training – these programmes are characterised by features which in some cases differ substantially from mainstream courses. Therefore there is clear evidence about the need to create and share specific tools in a transnational perspective. The main objective to be achieved by the Consortium is clear defined: to develop a general framework for quality assurance of continuing education programmes offered by Higher Education Institutions and to elaborate concrete and practical tools for their quality assessment.
The methodological framework will be using a bottom-up approach, starting from the needs identified and specific target groups to meet them through the LLL curricula design, which will take into due consideration:
- The differences among “standard” HEI education and LLL education
- The delivery, according to the target group: contact hours, e-learning and blended learning
- The timing: timetable according to the revealed workers needs, full-time or part-time (horizontal/vertical) delivery
- The definition of the learning outcomes, skills and competences
- The indication of credits (contact hours, individual work)
- The entry requirements, assessment through a shared template
- The consultation with relevant stakeholders, the labour market and the social parts
