The WP aims at identifying and enhancing the experience of the Latin American Countries HEIs in LLL. The models, strategies and organizational forms will be addressed through a SWOT analysis technique through which the key strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and limitations of the projects conducted, implemented or in progress will be identified. The analyzed organisational models, discussed and shared among the project partners, can represent a sort of guideline to carry out and develop the methodological framework of the project.
Basing on the previous data and providing a common glossary and template, at least 5 “good practice” models per Country will be analysed. The analysis of the good practices will take into account a bottom-up approach (qualitative and quantitative survey on the needs).
The action will start with a mapping of the local context (in each country involved in the project) with a focus on the LLL, carried out through a shared methodology. The mapping, essential for an effective bottom-up approach and needs analysis, will be including:
- political framework,
- legislation and practice,
- databases on lifelong learning projects
Furthermore, it will tackle issues of: the meaning of LLL; the educational policies and the LLL; the different institutional and legal framework of HEIs; the role of the university in LLL; the relationships and partnerships in the field of LLL between university and other institutions/organisations.
Subsequently an analysis of approaches will be made. The results will provide the necessary basis to design the lifelong learning curricula. Throughout the analysis stage, the on line resources, workshops and “good practice” models and other existing surveys and database dating 2000 to 2010 in this field will be used as benchmarks.
